NEW COURSE OPENS

The Senior Agronomist from Arnold Palmer Golf Management visited today and agreed with Brian’s assessment that the greens are ready for play. The greens are well established and foot traffic cannot effect the continuing development. The greens will continue to speed up and smooth out as time goes on.

Beginning Friday, August 6th you will get a chance to play your new greens for the first time. Tee times will be available all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Chris in the concession stand will be handing out free draft beer and hot dogs all weekend. We know it will be hot this weekend, but our Marshals will be handing out cold ice towels and bottled water on the course.

FYI - Interested in practicing on the new greens? The putting green will open tomorrow, Wednesday, August 4th.

   UPDATE ON THE GREENS
 

It will be five weeks this Saturday when the sprigs were put down.  They are progressing as we expected and looking like real greens already.  The pictures attached show amount of growth of  #4 green since June 24th.  The few days of overcast skies slowed the growth down a little, but the sun is out again creating wonderful growing weather.  Most of the greens are actually on pace to be playable in the next few weeks, but there are about five greens that are taking a bit longer and those are looking like four-five weeks.  Those five greens will catch up with the rest of them sometime in August.  There will be no rush to open the greens until they are ready.  It is still too early to determine an open date, but I will continue to update all the members through email and the website. 
     FYI:  In the upcoming days or weeks, the city will be repaving Berry Creek Drive.  The city has asked the Club and residents living on Berry Creek Drive to turn off all irrigation systems along the street now, in order that the preparation work can begin soon.  At this point we do not have a time frame for the completion of work.

 Construction Update:

The golf course renovation will now begin on Monday, May 24th. At that time temporary greens will be in place for use on the holes that are under construction. Brian will begin cutting temporary greens this Monday. On Tuesday we will be outlining the temporary greens in white paint. Please consider these areas as ground under repair and take free relief to avoid divots being taken.

The Member Appreciation/Bocce Ball Tournament/Greens Closing Party is being rescheduled from May 31st to Sunday, May 23rd from 1:00pm till 6:00pm. This FREE Appreciation event will include:

1. Starting at 1:00pm - Bocce Ball Tournament on the greens – sign up your 2 person team with Sally

2. Free Hot Dogs & Hamburgers, Draft Beer & Wine – 3:00pm-6:00pm

3. Live Entertainment – 3:00pm – 6:00pm

4. Backyard games on driving range 3:00pm-6:00m

5. BIGGEST DIVOT CONTEST ON #9 GREEN (5:00pm)

Construction details, timelines, and some of the reciprocal agreements are included in the presentation. Final reciprocal agreements will be posted by May 21st.

On Sunday, May 23rd we will have a 8:30am shotgun for the Couples League and Open Play.
